Does anyone have an Emjoy gently electric shaver?
I am thinking about getting one but at $50 - $110, I want to make sure its a good investment. Razor blades are so expensive - mind you I make each one last as long as possible.
Has anyone else bought one, and would you recommend it? |

I have had one for YEARS! I upgraded a few years ago but still use one you plug into the power socket.
It hurts like hell but you get used to it. Awesome for bikini line.
Hairs on legs sometimes grow just beneath the skin and get quite long so you really should loafer so that it comes out.
I would never in a million years part with my emjoy. But dont use on armpits!!!! You will see why if you try!!! |

Oh, I just re-read Kelly's Emjoy question and realised she said Emjoy Razor. I have the emjoy that has the rotating tweezer thingy. It spins around really fast and plucks the hair out.
Anyway, I love it. My only downfall is I don't loafer regularly and it produces ingrowns. My fault!! |

No you were right the first time Sue, the rotating tweezer thingy, that's the one I meant. Thanks for the feedback, I'll get one. I do hope the tweezer thingy spins really really fast because I have no tolerance for pain. As for using on your armpits, I'll just take your word for it and not do that. Thanks heaps |

Oh good luck if you don't like pain!! Ha ha...like I said, it hurts! It does spin fast but that doesn't mean it makes it hurt less! When you do your legs, around the ankle and down to the foot, it stings like mad...just bite on something and work through it...you go numb after awhile.
Oh... and be very careful when you do bikini line..I am sure you are a smart girl and will work it out!! It has been great for me, hope you take tolerate it. You will save heaps on salon trips! |

I've had my Enjoy for years too. Sure it hurts but so does waxing. You get used to the sensation. The trick (for me) is to keep running the machine over areas you have already done and gradually start ripping out fresh hairs. Beauticians do this when waxing too.
As for underarms, I use my Emjoy there as well but I'm not particularly hairy. I just keep the area as stretched as possible so the Emjoy can't catch on my skin.
Good luck with it Kelly! |

Thanks everyone, I'm glad I have a good sense of humour, I think I'll need it for this one. |

I also have used my Emjoy for many years and to help ease the discomfort I take 2 panimax half an hour before I start. Think of the money you are saving instead of having your legs waxed that could also take the sting out of the sensation.
You can do it! |

Oh wow Leigh! That is extreme...I don't think it hurts me quite that much!!!
I gave in last night a shaved my legs. Got sick of the ingrowns, makes my legs itch and then I scratch and end up with little sores.
But still using for bikini line! |

You guys have inspired me to give my one that has been stuck in the cupboard for about 3 years. I am going to give the panamax a go and see if that helps. |

Hi, just an idea on the pain of the emjoy. Make up some lemon balm tea and add it too the bath water and use a loofah to exfoliate at the same time. The lemon balm tea will numb the areas so it wont hurt as much.. Hope this helps. |

I've had one for years also, love it, don't do my legs but Bikini - it helps if you put baby powder on first and throughout the pluckin...also if you start on oneside, keep going that way as if you stop and switch sides it hurts more, something with our brains apparently - but it's true.. But buy one, you won't be dissapointed. |
