What is acceptable these days regarding bar tabs and asking guests to pay for drinks? We are planning an engagement party for our daughter and her fiance. It will be held at a hall, which supplies the bar and staff. We have already agreed to pay for most of it. However, about 80 people have been invited, most of whom are the fiance's family and friends, who tend to drink a fair bit. |

with the invitation to the party include drinks vouchers ( you can decide how many per guest according to your budget/bar prices)
to be exchanged at the bar for drinks - wine/beer. This enables you to manage your bar tab fairly and within you budget and is a subtle way of indicating to the guest that should they need more then they will be paying for them. This is a common and much easier way then running a tab at the bar. |
